ShareCards is a place to share cards about places, connect with others, and have useful conversations. These guidelines explain what we expect from everyone and what happens when something goes wrong.

1. Be respectful

  • Treat others the way you want to be treated.
  • Disagreement is fine; personal attacks, name-calling, and bullying are not.
  • Respect others' privacy and boundaries. Do not pressure anyone to share more than they want.

2. No harassment or hate

  • Harassment – including targeted abuse, threats, stalking, or repeated unwanted contact – is not allowed.
  • Hate speech – content that attacks or demeans people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics – is not allowed.

We may remove content and suspend or ban accounts that harass others or promote hate.

3. No sexual content involving minors

Content that sexualizes or exploits minors in any way is strictly prohibited and will be removed. We report such content and accounts to the appropriate authorities. There are no exceptions.

4. No illegal activity

  • Do not use ShareCards to plan, promote, or carry out illegal activity.
  • Do not post content that violates laws (e.g. drugs, weapons, fraud, theft). We may remove it and report it where required.

5. No spam or scams

  • Do not use the app for spam, unsolicited advertising, or repetitive low-quality content.
  • Do not run scams, phishing, or schemes to steal money or information.

6. No doxxing or sharing others' private info

  • Do not post or share other people's private personal information (e.g. real address, phone number, private email) without their clear consent.
  • Respect place and business information too: do not post private or non-public details in a way that could endanger or harass others.

7. Place-related content

  • Be honest about places – Do not post fake reviews, fake locations, or misleading information about a place to trick or harm others.
  • No impersonation – Do not pretend to be a business, place, or another person unless you are clearly authorized to do so.
  • Cards and comments about places should reflect your real experience or opinion where you present it as such.

8. Report and block

Report – If you see content or behavior that breaks these guidelines, use the Report option on cards, comments, messages, or user profiles. We use a combination of user reports and internal review to evaluate violations. We do not share your identity with the person you reported.

Block – If someone is bothering you, you can Block them. Blocked users cannot see your content in their feed/map, and you will not see theirs; messaging with blocked users is also restricted.

We take reports seriously but cannot guarantee a specific response time. We may remove content, warn users, suspend accounts, or ban accounts depending on the situation.

9. Consequences

If you break these guidelines or our Terms of Service, we may:

  • Remove specific content.
  • Warn you.
  • Suspend your account (temporary loss of access).
  • Permanently ban your account.

We may take these steps with or without prior notice, especially when we need to protect other users or comply with the law. Serious violations — including illegal content, exploitation of minors, or serious harassment — can lead to immediate removal, permanent ban, and reporting to authorities.
